• Wedding Venue
Bush venue is a unique ceremony experience – exchanging your vows in one of the most romantic places in South Africa


• Ceremony
Options include the Classic Wedding Ceremony or an African Traditional Wedding which includes the swapping of skins, drinking beer from Ostrich Egg Shells and swapping of beaded bracelets.


• Flowers : The following flower arrangements are included:
  • 1 x Bridal Bouquet
  • 1 x Corsage for the Groom
  • Additional flowers for tables, main areas etc. are at an additional cost


• Wedding Cake
To tantalize the taste buds, a choice of traditional fruit cake, scrumptious chocolate cake or delectable carrot cake; all decorated in an African/nature theme. Alternatively a bouquet of cupcakes may be arranged. Traditional Wedding Cakes with marzipan are at an additional cost.


• Lodge Representative
The representative will be present at the lodge to assist the couple with any last minute requirements, to ensure the smooth flow of all aspects and to assist in the set-up and layout of both the ceremony area as well as the dinner, albeit a private dinner or a large reception event.


• Honeymoon
  • Honeymoon turn-down includes; complimentary bottle of South Africa Sparkling Wine, a drawn bubble bath accentuated with an array of candles and the scattering of rose petals throughout the suite area leading to the bathroom. Guests will also enjoy a romantic dinner experience either on their private deck area or within their suite.
The Honeymoon package includes an upgrade to a suite (subject to availability or supplement) and romantic Honeymoon turn-down;

Total Package: R 8, 500.00 (Excluding Accommodation)
The above rate includes use of all current operational stock available at the lodge. Should the bridal party require any additional items for their function, these will be at an additional cost pending their requirements. It is advisable for the bridal party to have a pre-wedding consultation so as to discuss the current stock available.

Additional chargeable items:

• Photography

  • Pre-wedding, Ceremony & Reception : R 8, 500.00
The above rates exclude accommodation for the photographer, however includes, travel costs and time etc.


• Additional Guests not accommodated at the lodge
  • Participation in Ceremony & Reception: R 850.00 per person
• Entertainment
  • Tribal Dancers : R 3, 500.00
  • Marimba Band : R 4, 500.00
  • African Choir : R 3, 500.00
  • Gumboot dancers : R 3, 500.00
Tribal songs and dances in colourful traditional dress. Performances may be given either when guests arrive, or preferably after dinner with the African night sky as a backdrop.


• Hair
  • Bride only: R 900.00
  • Brides maids / mother etc.: R 350.00 p/p additional
The brides hair will be done at the lodge and includes the hair stylist’s time and travel costs.


• Make Up
  • Bride / maids / mother: R 300.00 p/p
• Balloon Safari
  • Balloon Safari: R 2, 850.00 p/p (weather dependant and subject to availability)
Imagine drifting soundlessly in the crisp morning air while below you, herds of elephant and other game move across the landscape. Early morning balloon excursions are offered at all the Thornybush Game Reserve Lodges. The Balloon Safari will replace the early morning game drive.


• Spa Treatments
Available at Thornybush Game Lodge and Simbambili Game Lodge. Thornybush Game Lodge can accommodate the bridal couple in their couple’s treatment area. All treatments are at an additional cost.


• Notes:
No paper confetti, streamers, feathers, rice or butterflies are permitted at any of The Thornybush Collection lodges.
The Thornybush Collection shall not be held liable for interruptions of services; water, electricity, sanitary services).
Whilst every precaution will be taken to ensure the safeguarding of your belongings, The Thornybush Collection will not be liable for loss or damage to any property whatsoever (decor props, wedding gifts, valuables, etc). We recommend that all personal and valuable property be removed directly after the wedding.
